YAT - 8 Aug - Sayonara

On 8th, my room mate Josephine & I woke up extra early to go shopping at the hotel's annex building! One can never get enough of Japanese food!

Afterwards, we reported for a lunch reception with the organisers. The buffet spread was really good - I love Japanese doria and sandwiches!

Each group had to do a short presentation. For the [B]est group, Winnie and Edward gave a heartwarming recount of our adventures over the past 6 days. Well done guys (Applause) :)

I'm really glad for everything that happened over the 6 days in Japan - the friends made, the delicious food, the vibrancy of the various matsuri.

Most importantly, the passion which the other 99 youth ambassadors have for Japan (and my own passion) bears testament to the fact that Japan is not alone. I'll definitely be visiting Japan again for the shopping, food & the showcase of culture she has to offer! <3

YAT - 7 Aug

On 7th, we left Sendai for Tokyo. A picture paints a thousand words, so I'll let the photos do the talking ;) In the photos (in the middle) are my room mates, Saori chan & Ami chan!

After the goodbyes, we took the bullet train from Utsunomiya Station to Tokyo Station. Compared to the endlessly long bus ride of 5 hours which we had on the first day, traveling from Sendai to Tokyo took only 50 minutes, which is just a fraction of the time we spent on the first day. Modern technology really does shrink our world and connects even far flung places! It really made us wonder why we had to take the longer and more tiring route at the start of the trip ><

After a short lunch beak at Tokyo Station, we visited Tokyo University (Todai) for some short lectures. Strolling along the Todai Campus amidst the summer heat, we were all surprised when the rain came after the lecture series. One of the professors then showed us a meteorological analysis programme which he estimated that the rain would stop within half an hour. And yes, his prediction was right! (claps)

After checking into Shinagawa Prince Hotel, it was free and easy time! My group decided to go to Ikebukuro. The blurry photos below is evidence of them being taken in a shaky train! Haha.

Having stayed in Ikebukuro during my trip to Japan last year, I was looking forward to visiting Animate to marvel at its wide selection of anime and manga merchandise, Tokyu Hands for its array of interesting Japanese products, Seibu for the food hall at its basement, Sunshine City for its collection of clothes stores.... and so much more. However, we had very limited time and most stores closed by 830pm in a bid to conserve electricity. This makes me want to visit Tokyo for shopping again though! I love their bustling city :)

YAT - 6 Aug

On the sunny Saturday morning, we went to join in the celebrations at the Sendai Tanabata Festival. The shopping street was lined with gorgeous paper ornaments of varying colours and dazzling designs dangling down from the ceiling.

My room mates and I managed to snap a photo within the short time we were given at the festival :)

Afterwards, we moved on to Mitsui Outlet Park. Being on a tight schedule, we were only allowed one & a half hour for lunch and shopping. Some of the outlet stores had really good discounts, but I didn't manage to shop much around the area. The park also has a beautiful ferris wheel! If possible, I'll like to visit Mitsui Outlet Park again :)

Our next destination was Sendai Airport. During the tsunami, the water that filled the airport had reached 3.02 metres in height, as shown by the blue band on the pillar in the photo below. Post tsunami, the airport has been more or less restored and has since resumed its operations.

What is most heartwarming at the airport is the messages of goodwill and encouragement being put together by well-wishers. Adorning the airport walls, the collages really showcase the support that everyone has for Japan. Be it the messages on the sunflower petals or the strings of precisely-folded cranes, they all convey hope and encouragement to the people in Sendai :)

Next, after a 3plus hours bus ride from Sendai Airport, we arrived at Kinugawa Onsen Hotel. There, we had our luxurious Sayonara party, Japanese style. Even the dining hall (with its tatami mats and art pieces) oozes Japanese charm.

YAT - 5 Aug

The next day, we made a trip to Rikuzentakata, one of the worst hit regions in Sendai by the 11/3 eearthquake and tsunami. As our bus drove along the roads, the scenery gradually changed to reveal the damage rendered by the disaster:

After collecting our protective gloves, masks and goggles from the volunteer centre, we went to the site we were assigned to and began with our volunteer work. Our task - to clear the mud that had clogged up one of the major drains. In the short two hours which we had at the site, we worked hard to clear the mud. Nonetheless, two hours wasn't sufficient for us to complete the task; we didn't even finish clearing half of the entire drain's lenght.

Looking back, I believe the volunteers in Rikuzentakata must have been stretched both physically and emotionally in the arduous clear-up mission. Yet, the task on hand is still and will continue to be an uphill one, judging from the extent of destruction. I hope that the volunteers will keep their spirits high and face the challenge bravely, and surely, the beauty of Rikuzentakata will be restored soon :)

After the volunteer work, we headed to Naruko Kanko Hotel. Its a really pretty and cozy ryokan - its the hotel which I enjoyed the most out of the 5 we stayed at. Not only was the room spacious, we had a pretty view from the window too! (but my apologies, I forgot to take a picture)

Together with the Japanese students, we enjoyed an awesome dinner plus karaoke session. My favourite dish has to be the barbequed crab (not show in below picture)! The shabu shabu would be the second best dish of the night, followed by the sashimi.

Food, friends and fun = an amazing summer night that I'll always remember :)

YAT, 4th Aug

On the second day, we visited the Hiraizumi Chuzonji Temple. To me, the visit was a breath of fresh air - literally. The temple is actually a UNESCO World Heritage and being surrounded by greenery and sunshine, the area was really pretty. Quite a number of us decided to try out the omikuji, which was really accurate for most, myself included.

After lunch, we headed to Akita International University for interaction with the students. At AIU, the students read international liberal studies and are proficient in multiple languages. To my surprise, AIU is a really cozy looking school. Its library, though small, has a gorgeous design that really makes one want to stay there and study hard! :)

Thereafter, we went for the Akita Kanto Festival. In summary, it was good food, fun with friends and an exciting parade of lanterns (:

YAT - Day One (3rd August)

Hi all! I'm back from Japan :) As promised in my previous post, I shall share about what happened over the awesome 6 days of the Youth Ambassador for Tohoku Programme (YAT) !

Allow me to start from the flight. It was a really tiring 7 hour flight from Changi Airport to Narita Airport. I felt kind of queasy during the flight; thankfully the in-flight entertaintment was to my liking and it kept me occupied from experiencing total motion sickness.

After reaching Narita airport and taking a slight breather, we had to take a 5 hour bus ride to Sendai. And yes, the time we spent in Sendai is characterised by long bus rides, but nonetheless awesome time spent on the bus chatting with the other YAT participants.

Finally in the evening, we reached Sendai and had our first interaction session with the Japanese students at a Mini Tanabata making workshop. My group was assigned to make a kinchaku, which resembles a purse. It serves to remind people to be frugal and not spend extravagantly. As a handicraft lover, I enjoyed the session. But come to think of it, making the paper ornaments one by one sure is a time consuming process. The teachers at the workshop must have spent a lot of time making the large-sized ornaments that lined the streets during the Sendai Tanabata Festival, and I really admire their dedication and commitment :)

Next, we went to Sendai Kokusai Hotel for our dinner reception. It was a pleasant night after the tiring travelling because of the delicious food (in particular, I really enjoyed the salmon) and an interesting play on the characters of the Sengokujidai.

After checking into ANA Holiday Inn Sendai hotel, my group met up to visit the convenience store nearby for ice-cream! Ice-cream never fails to melt away feelings of tiredness, doesn't it? So there, my first night in Sendai ended on a sweet note :)

Hi Jap Club! This is Shiyun, your 09exco secretary here :)
This blog hasn't been updated for quite a while already, so here I am to share with you about this programme which I am embarking on - the Youth Ambassador For Tohoku Programme (YAT).

I'm really glad to have been selected as one of the 100 ambassadors for Tohoku. During our club's Japan Cultural Trip last year, we only toured within Tokyo due to time and bugdet constraints. And so, when a teacher of mine informed me of YAT, I didn't hesitate to apply for it. I'm sure the trip will be well-rounded one - not only will we be experiencing the Tanabata Festival in Sendai, we will also be doing volunteer work and visiting Tokyo University to interact with the students. That's a whole package of Sightseeing + Community service + Cultural exchange, all within 7 days! Now I really can't wait :)

With 13 days left to strike out on my calender, I've been keeping myself busy with learning Japanese! I've always wanted to pick up the language, and now this trip serves as motivation for me to start on my reference books again. And 13 days means ... ... im less than 2 weeks away from delicious udon, sushi, ice cream and tempura!

I'll be blogging about my experience in Tohoku again! ^^v

The astons at the cathay was Awesome. Just awesome. They're so thorough with their preparation, that they're willing to sacrifice time for quality. No, that's a lie. We spent the whole of an hour waiting for the food to arrive . I kid you not; they took the whole time from 12.15 to 1.07 to prepare. Now for some pictures of the food to show the rather good quality:

That's it. We were so hungry that there were no photos. Enjoy the view.

Now for the real thing:
The qualiity was actually rather good, but don't get the coleslaw, unless you enjoy strange sauces. The pasta salad was quite good, and the portion was rather fine. I enjoyed the sauce for the lemon-lime chicken, but honestly, not the kind of thing I'd wait an hour for.

Seriously, an hour?!?!

8 MAY 2010DHS JAPAN EXPO

HELLO EVERYONE!

Last Saturday, 8 May (as the title suggests), a group of 6 Victorians from the VJC Japanese Club took part in Dunman High School's Japan Expo! :D

Coincidentally, we all signed up for the same two workshops - Nihon Buyo by the NUS Nihon Buyo Club and Ikebana by Ueda-sensei. This is called members intuition/affinity. (JAPANESE CLUB IS AWESOME *cough*)

FIRST WORKSHOP! Nihon Buyo!

Nihon Buyo is a traditional Japanese Dance that originated from Kabuki. Pictures tell the story better than words ever can so here you go, PICTURE SPAAAAAM (ahh I miss the luxury of having a "cut" to hide pictures under in Livejournal; LONG POST IS LONG, YO.):

Next was lunch! The food was pretty much awesome, there was chawanmushi, either salmon or chicken, curry and miso soup. The guests/teachers from Waseda Shibuya High School got a Sushi platter though. (SO DROOL WORTHY...)

During lunch, there was performances by two bands from Waseda Shibuya High School. Here's the first all male band, their set consisted of two songs, the second one being Monster. I didn't get pictures of the second band that had a female lead singer. Their set was also two songs, the second song being Taisetsu na Mono.

There were also dance performances, sushi making demonstration, solo vocal (singing Okaeri [used as the ending song for the drama Zettai Kareshi]) and a guitar performance. There was also Natsu Matsuri (Summer Festival) Games held in a corner so we headed over to try. :D

SECOND WORKSHOP!! Ikebana, the art of flower arrangement!
It was really informative, we learnt the basics of how to arrange flowers and the relationship between the Tai, Fuku, Fuku-friend, Tai-friend and...well, the basics of how to proportion the flower stalks and how to make use of volume and angles. :D

The day ended on a high note, with a nice closing ceremony....and pictures with schoolgirls in uniform.

Outing to Marina Barrage!

many words can describe the 5+hr time we spent there but the word FUN more or less summarises it :DDDDDD

instead i'd like to take this time to tell you about this eatery at ION called Aoba Hokkaido Ramen (a subsidary of Ajisen). We entered the shop which has a styling similar to that of a seafood market. Interestingly the overhead lamps were in the shape of crates o.o we waited an average amount of time before our food came. We were thirsty and to our dismay, the ramen arrived first ahead of the drinks.

Noodles
Picking up the ramen with chopsticks, one can easily identify the springyness and thickness of the ramen. Its texture mimicked that of kimchi flavoured instant noodles and despite it being delicious, i couldn't help but feel cheated by its cheap texture.

Soup
The soup itself was odd by ramen standards. It was incredibly salty, granted it was shio(seasalt) ramen, but still it was a tad too salty for my liking.

Ingredients
The scallops were springy and chewy and with a bite, broke apart in my mouth. However a meagre serving of just 6 scallops for a price of $13.80++ was certainly overpriced. Ajisen ramen's Hokkaido Scallop Ramen offers greater value for about the same price giving a generous serving of about 10 scallops. In the bowl also lies a single boiled egg cut in half. the egg depite its status as merely a side taste to the ramen was pleasing to the palette. It has a yolk that is semi hard and because it has been cut in half, the soup is able to seep into the yolk enriching its flavour. the egg white wasn't special but the combination of the white and the yolk made every bite a savoury experience.

Side dish
I ordered their tempura soft shell crab ($7.80) side dish and found it tasty but it left me unsatisfied. Roughly 3 pieces of half a crab is hardly value for money. Alone, the taste of the crab was rather bland but coupled with the tempura sauce, it becomes an overpowering combination of flavours that never fails to please me.

Drinks
Most of us ordered the flavoured sodas. For me i ordered the blue coral soda ($3.80). Tastes like overprice sprite with blue colouring.

Overall
Value: 2.5/5
Taste: 4.25/5
Ambience: 4/5
Not much desire to go back unless i have a serious ramen craving. Even then Ajisen Ramen would satify that craving more suitably

Amazing Race 2010!

Hellos!! been a long time since I put up a post so here’s to Jap Club’s annual amazing race!

The event started with everyone meeting up at 4.30pm in the concourse.

Then everyone was split up into groups which had a few issues cos the numbering din go too smoothly ^^ (ppl not listening then dunno what number are they tsktsk)

Each group was then given an equation to solve to figure out which bus to take. My group got Shiyun’s eqn which was unfortunately flawed and expected us to take bus number 45.345436 -.- sry guys! x.x wasted 10 mins trying to figure it out…

K now I shall use a special style of presentation... ^^ prepare to imagine as I take u on a journey thru the race…

*Amazing Race narrator voice* Teams must now race to their first station at Carrefour where they will be given the clue to their task. “hi my name is tomy, I am 8 years old and I like to drive mica around” in this station teams must count the number of WHITE cars that appear in the Tomica Toy Car display case. They must then tell their station master the number of white cars. If they get it wrong, they have to count all over again…

After Carrefour, teams must now race to the build a bear workshop. At this station, teams will have to scour the entire store looking for a clothes item that is uniquely Japanese. When they have found this item, the station master will

Next station is at raffles city (not raffles place oops!) At this station teams are required to find 5 shops whose first letter of the shop name will spell the word JAPAN.

The next station is inside Raffle's City at a shop called AnBC. Teams must make their way there and count the number of musical boxes on display.

The final station is at paper market where teams must count the number of pink ribbons.

The checkpoint for the race is the fountain of wealth. the first team arrive there will win.

Yeap thats a wrap :)

At the end of the race we had dinner together and ate at fish and co and set a new record in jap club history for having the highest bill in a single sitting of $140 among 6 people!

New york fish and chips were simply delightful. Eat bite melts in your mouth as u savour the salt and then the cheesy taste of melted American cheese, the texture of the fish is so soft that it crumbles in your mouth yet it stays in tact long enough for u to pick it up with a fork. The batter light and crispy gave a mouthwatering crunch as I took a bite into it. Mayonnaise was cool and refreshing and nullified the overpowering sensation of oil. Fries were disappointing, Astons does better fries of the same flavour.

Basically I was killing myself considering I had sore throat :x but the fish and chips were too good to miss!

WAHOO!!! 'Ola Jappies (and Manag Fest 2010 participants and Debbie if you're reading this)!!

So so. We just had our Manga Fest honourary Preparation Workshop yesterday (Friday). Needless to say, it was an UBER FUN EVENT!!!

Honestly (OMG here I go again... -_-) it was an excellent session. So we were waiting for Jappies and all to come yeah... Nearly played SlapJack (THREE KINDS OF SLAPPNG!! ^^) before the class. Glad to see the joy of SlapJack spreading... ^^

So when the 'cher (XDD) came, we set down like nice little boys and girls. Were told to get into pairs. Then we had to STARE at our partners and DRAW them WITHOUT LOOKING at our paper!! ><>

Then then. When finally got the AVA cable (which I still have to sign out on Monday... ^^") 'cher (Debbie XDD) can finally start her lessons proper. YAY!!! ^^

So so. We ewnt through steps on how to draw FACE, EYES, NOSE, MOUTH... OH AND HAIR!!! ^^ Haha Jason (ISit?? xpp) sayed one of the styles looked like STARFISH lol... Hehs turns out got quite alot of talents in freshies leh!! Like Jia Hao likes drawing Chibi... ^^

Then got draw Face Angles, where at the very least we (Me and Xiao Jie?? Or Ryan??) copied 'cher's example on that guy with the FLOWER HEAD!! XDD Hahahahahahah!!!!!! And I thought the shadow shading was like STUBBLE or something!! xpp

Then we went through some EXPRESSIONS (HAPPY :), EMO :(, PISSED OFF [where mine just COULD NOT look ANGRY enough ><], SKEPTICAL). 'Cher was SOO PRO!! She taught us liao then started sketching various characters etc. ON THE SPOT. ON WHITEBOARD. JUST WITH MARKER!!! Like Hamtaro, this guy with Naruto's shirt, Yumichika Ayasegawa (from Bleach, with the MOST EPIC EXPRESSION EVER!!!)...) And she even drew KUCHIKI BYAKUYA TAICHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OHMYGOOOOOOOOOOOODDDD!!!!! KYAAAAASSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! ^^

DAY 1

SINGAPORE / TOKYO (NH112 ETD:2300pm)

Assemble at Changi airport for your morning flight to Japan by NH112 (ETA:0730am)

Arrival at Narita, Tokyo Japan.

We then proceed Shinjuku for shopping, Harajuku – visit 6storey 100 yen shop.

After lunch, visit Shibuya.

Harajuku – we can see cosplayers (Japanese costume play) in action and take photographs with them. Also, we can experience the vibrancy of the city appreciate the cosplayers’ creativity in designing their own costumes and dressing up as anime characters.

Thereafter transfer back to hotel.

After check-in free and easy.

DAY 2

TOKYO

After breakfast, visit Imperial Palace (Tokyo station).

Imperial palace – get to know more about the history of Japan’s royal family

(hopefully, we can get a guided trip to explore areas normally closed off from the public)

Take a stroll at Ueno Park - Toshogu Shrine, Bentendo Hall Temple.

Ueno park – for flower viewing! Marvel at the wonders of nature

Shrine and temple – view the religious practices and marvel at the architecture of the shrines

After lunch, visit Akihabara, the equivalent of Sim Lim Square in Singapore.

Try out the innovative technological tools invented by the Japanese.

Transfer by train to Odaiba for dinner at Venus Fort Shopping Mall.

Odaiba,

1. A replica of the Statue of Liberty
2. Rainbow (suspension) Bridge connecting Odaiba (Shinbashi station) to the heart of Tokyo
3. 1:1 scale Gundam statue.

Hakone Tozan Railway - Japan's oldest mountain railway. We can experience traveling along the mountain via railway (which most of us would probably have never tried before). Furthermore, we can admire the beautiful scenery along the ride.

Hakone Open Air Museum (Art museum)

View art exhibits in the outdoors – a unique experience.

OR Hakone Peace Park

Can take photos at the picturesque park.

Gotemba Outlet Mall

Transfer to hotel

If possible, visit Lake Ashi at night.

Accom: Koryu Hotel or similar.

DAY 4

MT FUJI DISTRICT / TOKYO

Depart hotel and proceed for Mount Fuji 5th station (If weather permits)

Mount Fuji- tallest volcanic mountain in Japan.

Marvel at the creations of nature.

After lunch, visit Lake Ashi (we may want to sit the ferry, the view is nicer, can see Hakone Shrine)

After dinner, transfer back to hotel

OH MY GOD!!!

Today was a FUN SESSION!! Woots!!!!!!!!

Haha.. Okies. To start off, we actually realise that we have a lack of ITEMS. -shocked face- SOO. Our favourite PRESSIE!!! came up with the brilliant idea of D.I.Y. And thus, the "PAPER CARDS" (as I was told to name them) were born!!!

Then in T11. We finally have a classroom that doesn't threaten to lock us in!!!

Our v-pressie started of with a summary of our JCT yeah!!! VERRRRRRRyyyyyy interesting!!! (no sarcasm intended). Honestly. The price was WONDERFULLY CHEAP!!! -shocked face again-

THEN. Our LONG AWAITED... -drumrolls- Dance Dance Revolution (DDR)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have certain PRO KIAS in our midst. Playing with the DDR mats sponsored by our very own YI WEI THE DDR KING, we saw various professionals groove to the music. Hahahahhaha... If yer wanna know who are the KINGS and QUEENS ie the PRO KIAS, you can ask any present there lol...

At the same time, we had a table of four going through games like Dai Di, Bridge etc... Good to know that this isn't lost in our generation yep yep.

We also had another MORE INNOCENT group at the back of the classroom playing... -drumrolls again- SLAPJACK!!!! OMG FINALLY there's people to play SLAPJACK with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those that doesn't know, we'll be explaining the basics here (so you can play with us next time with no excuses muahahahahah):

1. Slap Jack has three kinds of "slapping" (meaning you hit your hand on top of the pile of cards)

2. If you've played normal SNAP, you will then know the first SLAP. CONSECUTIVE SAME CARDS are SLAPPED. eg I put a ten, next person also flips open a ten on the pile. SLAP!!

3. Another SLAPPING is when Jack appears. Simple and easy.

4. Lastly, when you open your cards, you are supposed to call "Ace, two, three..." so on and so forth, ending at King and starting at Ace again. So when the card you flip open corresponds to what is just called, SLAP!!

5. Simple as above. Soo let's play SLAPJACK!!!!

Then we had DFTL trial... Hmm... For only awhile lol...

And finally... MASS DANCE!!! MUAHAHAHAHAH. Ok sorry. Yours truly has an addiction to them, so for those of you that have neutral or negative feelings towards it, I'll just skip this. :))

Lastly. RED BULL GIVES YOU WINGS. But, it's just FAKE energy boost. After the caffeine dose, you'll feel like HELL if you don't actually have the energy needed.

the awesome day started at 10am when choon hian and hoon suan came to my house to edit the orientation video :)

we went to astons for lunch and hoon suan ordered corn on cob not knowing the corn was... well on a cob? lol reminding me of rachel's corn experience at hip diner usa xD

the party started when wen nam came and started playing ps2 god of war. ppl then started streaming in and soon there were enough ppl to play mahjong!!! meanwhile in my room the editing hit a climax when we discovered how to change the pitch of terence voice xDDDDD Javaron became GAYYYYYYYY LOL

The pizzas soon came and i was accuse of ulterior motives for ordering a kimchi flavoured pizza... =.= like wth... but quite true that the teriyaki tasted better :P
night cycling was dam fun! i rode tandem with shi yun and rachel and huiping rode tandem too while sean, wennam and terence rode on individual bikes. we went frm parkway to the lagoon and back. but on the way back my bike chain came off thrice!!! like wth fixed it twice but the last one we din stop cos we are running out of time.. so shi yun kept paddling till we reached the shop.. feel quite bad not being able to help her paddle...

Escape to Escape Theme Park!

Hi ppl! a big thanks to kenny for organising the outing to commemorate our lovely seniors end-of-A-Levels!!!

we had lunch at eighteen chefs simei. the name makes it sound like some high class chinese restaurant so i was quite shocked when i reached there. :x It looks like pastamania with an even more casual look... but the food was great! My root beer batter fish and chips was delicious but very filling... giving me problems later on at the theme park.. >.< not cool!

then we went to ehub and wanted to play pool but it was too crowded so we went to play bowling but bowling oso too crowded so we went to the atrium of downtown east where we saw the banner with the advert for $9 tickets to escape theme park =D it was such a bargain that we decided to go =DD

some of the highlights are the haunted house which was abit zzz but jess screaming made it more exciting :D HAHA another was the pirate ship that we went on like twice... the feeling of G forces and inertia and all physics crap working on certain areas of our body making us feel uncomfortable x.x but still enjoyable :D

the waterslide was also dam fun and dam wet >.< both of the slides no kick compared to genting and probably some other slides ard the world =\ i guess 15m aint high enuf. lol but shouting something really really loudly as though ur the king of the world before the steep plunge was rewarding :D i think jess was stunned HAHA

for all of us, the most fun ride was the go karts which we tried 4 times! xD 2 times on the beginner 2 times on the advanced. it was super fun!!! wen nam tried all kinds of stunts and even overtook someone! LOL feels like driving a real car! and lesson 1) when they tell u to slow down, speed up! u get a real kick out of it! xD

in the end, we ended up going to kfc for dinner and we were still drenched, well, at least i was... :x tried the new black pepper chicken. DAM NICE xD and dam oily :x cant have too much of a good thing. then we went home =)

SO. On the 24th November, Tuesday. MOST BUSY, TERRIBLY TIRED NO GOOD ALL FUN PLUS WORK day for our BELOVED JAPPIE CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off had Bento making!!! Had the EXCO CHIONGING about to meet Mr Yong bout some STUFFIES then RUSH to v-pres house to get the ingredients and whatnot. WHEW!!! Was it a LOOOONG journey, plus all the foods for our YUMMY breakfast/lunch ie brunch!!! V-pres spilt lotsa tea… ><>< >< ><>< >< ><) Intros started, few glitches here and there (Like our dear PR forgetting what PR stood for when EVERYONE else could answer for HER… -_- THANKS GUYS I LOVE YOU SOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUACKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!) BTW our dear facils like PIAHED origami teaching in the background lor… You guys were like SHOOOOOO CUUUUUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ^^ Presentation was a nifty. Whoo!!!!!!!

OMG yesterday was SUPER FUNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So so. Yesterday, on the 14th November (Saturday), a few of us went for the Edo Kimekomi Dolls exhibition and we had the enjoyment of our life!!!

Well, the day started off with our little motley group meeting at City Hall MRT station. One silly girl arrived 30 minutes early, and got led on a wild merry walk-around by our dear v-pres. THEN, our nice pressie came at the exact time. (claps claps!!) See?? MUST LEARN FROM PRESSIE!!! So after waiting for a certain few more, (wink wink ^^) we set off on our journey!! (BTW!!! Yunn, our sexy secretary lived up to her title mann xpp… -whistles-)

Arriving at the Singapore Philatelic (lols… couldn’t spell that… used spell check… ^^) Museum, we were soon squealing like little girls (or boys ^^) as we wandered around into the main exhibit. There were many other doors leading off from the main corridor, but we’ll touch on that later.

SO!! The main exhibit was a great sight to behold!! Their main theme was using the story of the “Wedding of the Mouse” (or something like that lol, coz I only rmb the Chinese title “Lao Shu Jia Nv Er” ^^). Right in the middle of the room was all the doll-mouse-s. this loooong table, right at the front was the wedding procession, followed by the ceremony, with the wedded bride and groom at the head of the “table”!!!! It was uber cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (OMG I always wanted to use that word hahahahahhaha)

So we spotted this crowded table at the side yeah, and decided to come back later when it was less crowded. (can’t afford to let our three pretties (pressie, secretary, lovely Sandra) be tofu-eaten by the people yeah… ^^) we also took photos with this lady in kimono!!!!! She was so kind lol… Then, this assistant informed us that there was a kimono wearing and origami folding session on the last room of the second floor. Us being the COOL, CALM, COLLECTED people we were, we waltzed up to our destination with fine grace. (In other words, we ran over each other like the monkeys we secretly are to reach the room ^^) Pressie suggested a photo along the stairs lol…

On the second floor landing, just round the corner was another display-behind-glass-cabinets of dolls, more traditional-y types lah. In our excitement, we decided to come back later and headed for THE room.

We (the girls that is, relax guys I won’t drag you through this ^^) twittered excitedly as we queued in line for the kimono wearing. As the others cooed at the “kawaii kids”, the guys wandered off to take photos, check out the origami making table, check out pretty girls etc… our turn came and we asked to have the four of us done together. ^^ The two ladies helping spoke mainly Jap, so through a lot of simple English and hand gestures and basic understanding, the four of us finally managed to get the idea across. See how pretty the three pretties look?? (Duh, that’s why the THREE pretties…) then the last one fitting into the kimono like a dumpling in its leaf wraps… T_T Red dumpling… (shudders) We also took photos with the two ladies who dressed/wrapped us up. One of them made our v-pres wear this weird looking hat!! Should have seen his expression!!!!!!!!!! Hahahahahahhahahah!!! Our other guy luckily escaped her clutches… Oh well we can’t have everything… ^^ we thanked them tgt with a “arigatou” ^^ Were they shocked?? xpppp

Then the origami session!!!!!!!!!!! It was fun, fun, and more fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were even taught by kawaii kids, who (as our pressie and secretary speculated) would grow up into hunks and babes… Go figure, I mean the kid was like around 7?? ^^

Then then. We went for lunch at NIWA SUSHI (as our v-pres KINDLY reminded us was not SUSHI DON or NIPPON SUSHI for the thousandth time... Exasperatedly I might add xpp). For some strange reason or another (IT WAS FATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) we ordered like twin sets lol… Pressie and PR ordered salmon bento, v-pres and secretary ordered this fried chicken bento (OMG OMG OMG!! CAN’T RMB THE NAME ALL OF A SUDDEN!!!!!!!!! AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! T_T), and lovely Sandra and Kenny the “innocent” dude ordered beef bento… ^^ Was waiting for Cher and Yi Wei (Wanted to type YW, but realized CANNOT… xppp), and expected them to order twin sets AGAIN. In the end, only Cher turned up, and she had ALREADY eaten (CHICKEN RICE buffet… Go figure. ^^) Spoilsport.

THEN. We went Bugis, coz sexy ‘Dra had something on yeah… Well, then we had a 3 scoops for $3 Jap Ice cream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG lah!!!!!!!!!!! I mean I asked the person and it was like “1 for $3, 3 ALSO for $3.” So we bought. ^^ (Except for sexy ‘Dra and yunn who left liao… >< >< ><) Smart Kenny (the “innocent” dude) got a cup, while the rest of us struggled with cones… hais… and the PR who should have a way with things ended up dropping 2/3 of her cone… ><>x hahahhahaahahahaha… Shh… Can’t say too much here!! ^^

Then later, went for some foods while debating about whether we can play cards in public… Played one round of Big 2/ Dai Di/ Chua Dai Di/ Whatever you call it, and finally, the “innocent” dude and the PR left, leaving Cher to the mercy of the pressie… Muahahahhahahahaahah… ^^

And that’s the end of our EXCITING FUN TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No cookies for those of you who didn’t come!!!!!!!!! Xpppp

museum outing!!!

xD omg the museum outing was so cool! i felt like a tourist! xD the girls got to try on kimonos while i wore a samurai paper hat =.=|| the dolls were also soooooo cool! so much detail. i esp like the snowman one xD and the one with 2 ppl at a table signing some document i think... we even got postcards with cool handdrawn faces by a jap artist! (if u notice the smiles on the faces seem to be getting larger and larger HAHA!) then we went to Niwa sushi at city link to have lunch. Their bentos start from as low as $4.40! and their range of sushi always tempts customers to have more x) then we went to bugis to play arcade and shop, frm what i heard kenny spent the most O.o here are the pictures! enjoy!

oh and btw Hip Diner USA is super value for money!!! one for one even though u r juz one person meaning u can have 2 meals :D juz look out for obama :D

and depict various Japanese festivals, folklore and traditions.
Each doll requires an average of TWO years to complete.

We’re having a sentosa outing, cant wait for 26.11.09 to arrive x)
it will be a great time to bond, have fun and chill out!
We could go for monorail rides, walk around nature and
have a blast juz chilling/tanning/gaming at the beach.

VJC Open House 09

Hi guys I know it’s a long time since the last post. Now that promos are over, I can post in peace and also have something to post about lol. Open house was a blast!!! xD we owned other ccas with our exhibits of toys and artefacts and the stunning 22inch widescreen lcd! Our homemade banner also made a statement perched high above our booth bearing down on all who pass by our booth. The jap flag made the booth look like a make-shift Japanese embassy but still it was alright =) Our speakers blasted music into the night from tons of MVs courtesy of Filbert =).

We had lunch at Thaipan which, for some of us, was the first time going there. We ordered butter squid, broccoli and tofu. This is the first time I m trying a dish other than fried rice or butter squid LOL and I muz say their cooking is not exemplary but acceptable. Their salted fish fried rice was abit too salty :x and their olive fried rice has a weird aftertaste.

For me, it was my first time cosplaying and it was quite interesting to see ppl staring at me with the omg face >.< haha. We roamed the school, spreading the influence of jap club and arousing attention. Most hilarious part? Ambushing Mr Chan Poh Meng for a photograph! xD

We had prepared gifts in the form of paper crane bookmarks which we gave to visitors. Our open house video also rocked even though I doubt it was screened in the PT =\ blasting it on the 22inch monitor had a similar effect!

As the event drew to a close, almost all our members jumped in for the mass dance at the bus bay. It was an interesting sight for a mass dance at night and it most certainly caused complaints from our neighbours! :x

To wrap this up, I'd juz like to say thank you to all members for ur emphatic enthusiasm and loyalty to the club!!! This event would not have been a success without the participation of each and everyone of u! Cosplayers did a wonderful job and the ushers and booth tenders also performed superbly. Well thought through preparations also enabled us to stay ahead and above the rest, leading to a very successful presentation of what we are capable of, bringing jap club recognition and respect of other Victorians and ccas. For that I thank all of you once again!!! xD

Heyy there Jappies!! ^^
Whew!! The previous two weeks or so had been a tiring time for some members in Jap Club. Namely your selfless Pressie, Vice Pressie aand!! Your sexy secretary!! –winks winks- Let’s give them a round of applause!! –claps- Well done guys well done!! ^^ -pat pats-

Why so?? For those of you who don’t know, let this HUMBLE storyteller embark on a thrilling tale.

In relation to Teachers’ Day (BTW how many of you didn’t know it should be “s-apostrophe” and not “apostrophe-s”?? Raise your hand. AHA!! I see you!! Yeah YOU with the guilty look on your face as you read this!! Don’t hide now!! And I KNOW that you just raised your hand. –pat pats-), this GUY (^^) from Infocomm approached our own vpressie for a collaboration to make a Teachers’ Day Video. A long story short, -dramatic drumroll- our KIND vpressie took pity on the poor guy (^^) and accepted. SO our heroes wet off on a venture to create… a video.

After LONG HOURS of DISCUSSION and HEATED DEBATES which saw clashes of powers and ringing of blades (frightened the hell out of the patrons at Mos Burgers aye ^^), the directors finally decided on a plot that was sure to make the audience go “WOW!!”, or more appropriately, “WTH?!” (NOTE: NO ONE ANSWERED THE QUESTION YET!! I NEED TO KNOW THE ANSWER!! ^^)

And thus, the videoing started. Later on, various students would return home wondering about the CRAZY FOUR (as they kindly dubbed them) who were running around school, harassing the hell out of the QUIET and HARDWORKING students who were –gasp- STUDYING for a change in school!! Tsk tsk. Witnesses (whose identities shall be kept A SECRET HAHA!) stated that they saw a terrorist-wannabe dressed in a bloody rubbish bag with a red plastic bag over his head swinging a rifle at them as they scooted around the crazed maniac. Others, namely from CT Council and the Debate Team to name a few, claimed that they were pounced on by a frenzied group of foursome who dragged them to be filmed in “spastic scenes”. Many played along just to avoid getting their heads ripped of by the four who seemed ready to do so to anyone who rejected them. Besides students, teachers were also not spared as those who were innocently hanging out around the second floor of the canteen (Otherwise known as the “PE Dept THERE”) were dragged into the mess. After heckling a PE teacher into running on the cycle THINGY, they further ambushed hardworking sports students outside the PE Dept into doing yet another of the infamous “spastic scene” for them. Then, numerous anonymous calls were made about three SCREAMING BANSHEES who ran around the school grounds emitting high pitched noises at a high amplitude and frequency (in other words, screaming their heads off) trailed by a camera-toting EVIL WIZARD MASTER PERSON who is DEFINITELY THE ONE who planned the release of these terrors on the holy peaceful grounds of Victoria Junior College. Then, on the final day of 28th August, the CRAZY FOUR MINUS ONE (Due to unforeseen bureaucratic circumstances revolving around an invasion of the Virgin Islands to conquer all the paper drinking umbrellas taking away the final member) finished the remaining portion of the Video-That-Caused-All-Hence-Chaos, -Trouble-And-People-Missing-The-Bottom-Of-Their-Pants by kidnapping yet ANOTHER two innocent bystanding PE teachers on their daily routine around school. BUT NO!! That wasn’t enough for them as they KOPED another three teachers who did NOTHING against them by making them drop in a dead faint all of a sudden, JUST FOR THE Video-That-Caused-All-Hence-Chaos-…and you get the picture. But it was then that finally marked the end of the insane rule of the CRAZY FOUR INCLUDING THE ONE WHO MISSED THE LAST PART and their grip on VJC.

… The paper umbrellas still aren’t captured yet. Bugger.

Movie Screening Session!!

Whoo!!! It’s been long since last post yeah… As my pressie kindly reminded me… Ahem… ^^
SOO!! The Tuesday just pass was one relaxed meeting yeah!! We had… -drumroll-… a MOVIE SCREENING!!! Isn’t that like soo cool?? ^^ In school no less… In an air-coned room, with soft comfy chairs lined up in rows JUST LIKE IN THE CINEMA (OMG nearly types “THE MOVIE PLACE” xpp), ANDD!!!!!! It was in the DARK. Thinking back, that was like just TWO DAYS from the Seventh month… Hmm…
ANYWAY. True to our Jappie roots, we watched a Jap movie!! It’s a recent one!! Full of suspense and deepness that sets one thinking, not some random random story. Any idea?? ^^ You guessed it!! (Or maybe not…) It’s SUSPECT X!!!

SPOILERS AHEAD!!! SKIP TO THE NEXT SPACING LIKE THE ONE ABOVE IF YOU DON’T WANNA KNOW!! ^^
It was my first time watching yeah… So the story goes something like this… BTW I’m super bad with names yeah… Especially Jap ones… xp Soo… Yeah…
There was this lady, the protagonist, who lived with her daughter. She owned this lunch box restaurant (WHICH I noticed was named after her daughter!! Yay clever me!!) Her ex-husband came harassing them one night, and after much struggling etc she and her daughter killed him. Her neighbour, who we’ll find out is this EXTREMELY smart maths guy who can be called a GENIUS but is actually working as a teacher in a school after he left this special research place (I totally can’t catch that part… ><), heard the struggling and went to call on her. Him, being the genius he is, figured out as much about the murder EVEN though she only spoke to him through her chained door. Imagine that like woah!! So the whole story is actually kind of like how this guy helped her plan and plot to evade the police. A police lady, who is another protagonist I believe, who followed her instinct and believed the woman killed her ex, followed the case through till the end despite many bumps along the way. She even enlisted the help of this PROUD, DAO-ish physicist who turned out to be a good (and kinda only) friend of the pro guy. In the end, the physicist guy figured out the whole sad tale, even the sacrifice the pro guy made to protect the lady and her daughter. He even took her place and admitted to the murder. BUT BUT. She finally found out everything (courtesy of the physicist guy) and in the end turned herself in to join him.
Woah. Guess that was about it eh?? I doubt many of you who HAVEN’T watched the movie would understand what I was saying/typing. Oh well. There was quite a lot of deeper stuff in it actually, that I can’t really bring out in the plotline. You’ll have to watch to understand. Stuff like how BADLY the males in Japan treat/look down on the females. Grr… Got pissed on that one. And like love is like THE GREATEST of all. Cheesy, I know, but it’s still true. (Aww soo sweet… ^^) One thing though, I couldn’t stand how the lady gave herself up after how much the genius guy sacrificed for her sake. I mean, it was such a WASTE. I know she most probably will not be able to live with herself any other way, but STILL… it’s all the physicist guy’s fault, but HE wouldn’t be able to live with HIMSELF if he didn’t do what he did. As the police lady reminded him. It all comes back in a circle. There’s no clear black and white way to life. There’s always a grey area. A LOT of grey area. And that’s where we normally hang out our whole life. Kinda makes things seem grey, no pun intended.

Bento making session

Hey everyone, we just had another awesome jap club session! And this time we did bento making! XD

Firstly I hope everyone enjoyed their feeling fab ;D for me I did ice skating and cardiolates. Ice skating was awesome and is much easier to pick up than rollerblading. We shld hv a jap club ice skating outing! =D cardiolates was… sean/huiping/Fiona help me fill in the blank…

Anw we started off the session with a presentation in V48. The pictures were uber kawaii and caught everyone’s attention and inspired everyone to make even more awesome bentos! XD

Then we headed to the canteen where hui ping and shi yun have prepared and washed the food and crockery. What happens after this can only be described by the pictures that below… :D

Sure we attracted a lot of stares and I bet some ppl mistook us for culinary but hey, at least we pulled it off =D With iron chef pang frying up some greasy shallow-fried hot dogs (or as I like to call them “Chicken Chipolatas Ala Flambé”) :D and rachel’s bento clinching the title of the best bento judged by Jessica whose fantabulous bento filled with only creativity :D we’re glad our awesome seniors decided to come back and have fun with us!

then came the washing up, kudos to SC and yiwei for supplying us the detergent x) haha after which the exco stayed back to give our board a makeover. Its a board that everyone of us shld be proud of. =)

I believe I speak for all who came that we certainly enjoyed ourselves! =D and this success inspired us to have more fun-with-food sessions lined up so u can expect the next food prep session isn’t too far away =)

For next week, we’ll be learning some simple jap the fun way so see u there ;)

For this week, we cycled and rollerbladed at ecp :D Everyone met in school,before heading out to ecp. Shi yun went to buy the green tea and chips (it was suppose to be sushi but cos too few ppl D: ) many thanks! :D while I went home to apply medication that stopped my back from itching like hell! X( thank goodness it worked :D cycled frm home to ecp with my vjc cap on reverse :DD and got comments that I look like ahpek, biker gang, etc. =.=

Falling down was a common occurrence, I fell down like 3+ times. Once I nearly did a split.. x.x

Jap Club Games Day JUL 2009!

Yo jap club!

We just had an awesome games day and here’s the lowdown =D

We met up at v48 before heading to our first station outside v36. Everyone changed out of their uniform and into their PE. Elva must have had a hard time haha

Station 1 was called “Crossing together” and apparently these games are inspired (or copied -.- ) frm clic camp. I didn’t witness this account but this is the official description:
20 A4 sized paper will be prepared, on these paper a number (1 – 20) will be written on them. These papers will then be placed on the floor randomly. Members will be requested to hold hands and get across the path together by stepping on the A4 size paper according to ascending numbers. At anytime, members are not allowed to let go of each other’s hand and at least a foot (maximum of 2 feet) must be placed on the piece of paper, or else, they will have to restart from the starting point (number1) again.
Judging from the pictures it must have been fun! =D

Station 2 called “Passing it on” was abit more wu liao HAHA basically we passed “balls” labelled with different classifications (eg odd numbers, even numbers) and each player is given a number. Then the game starts and players must pass the “balls” to the people with numbers that corresponds to the ball. (eg number 2 gives “even number” to number 4). For wen nam and sean it must have been tough considering they chose to sit so far apart from the girls XD. After all the balls have completed one round around the players, the game is complete. The process repeats for 5 times and each time the time limit decreases. Astonishingly even at 20s, it is still accomplishable o.o but it flopped after I set the time at 10s ^^

Station 3 “Human entanglement”: Members will stand in 2 lines facing each other. Each member will grip one hand of another member without repeating the same person. Hence, each member will end up holding the hands of 2 different people. Members will then try to unravel themselves to form a circle in the shortest time possible.

Station 4 was called “Down together” and it involved everyone standing in a circle to lower and flip a hula hoop onto its other side. After a few unsuccessful attempts, success was achieved and we all crowded together for a group photo (during which my camera fell to its death). On the way back to school one of my hoops broke =.= double whammy…

"Breaking news": I would like to dedicate the next paragraph to Kenny, an extremely loyal jap club member, whose steadfast dedication and passion for jap club is evident in him coming all the way back to school from bedok to participate in the final activity on our list :D

Kk back to the final station, we had to flip a trashbag on its side WHILE standing on it. Girls vs guys and despite having fewer numbers, the guys lost… but hey we lost with dignity and our gentlemanly behaviour for letting the girls win is commendable! XD

Now I know everyone was tired after that very long day, and after a suggestion by michelle and shi yun that we should treat, we decided we should, so we’ll be treating all those who came… soon ;D dun worry, I quote mr chan poh meng:” it will come, it will come at the right time” ;D

Next week’s session is cycling at east coast park. For those who cant cycle, I can teach :D HAHA and I have a track record for teaching people how to cycle: so far 1 apprentice and he still cant cycle. For those planning to roller blade I HIGHLY RECOMMEND u wear proper socks and not ankle socks or u may get cuts and bruises. Bring your water bottles, extra cash (we can expect to go out to macs for dinner) and a shoebag with change of clothes. See u then! =)

As we all know, it is Summer in Japan now. SO SO SO, to celebrate this wonderful season, let's all listen to some great summer songs that have been released so far!!!
These songs are released from 1st week of May to 1st week of September. Though not EVERY song released during this period is a summer song. It really depends on the mood of the song.

Koda Kumi - Hashire!
This is a funky, upbeat rock song with a Promotional Video (PV) that absolutely portrays the Summer Spirit! It may take some time to get used to the slightly different arrangement but I personally find this song very fun and positive! And also to mention that Kumi is looking her best in this video. Hashire means Run.

Hamasaki Ayumi - fairyland
Boasting a production cost of US$6million, this PV had to be good. It's another great song with the summer love. It's a great song to enjoy with your friends and family too :P Hawaii looks amazing btw.

BoA - KEY OF HEART
This has to be BoA's last summer song before she went to eat you up...or was it LOVE LETTER (?). And tbh, I found a certain dance scene very very similar to MJ's Black or White MV. But then again, BoA IS a fan of him. Anyway, BoA's dancing makes this laid back summer song even better as it gives it some edginess. I really love this song.

YUI - SUMMER SONG
This was YUI's last song before her one year hiatus (and jumping back with FMA's new song). It would be so wrong if I don't put this song up, because the title speaks for the song itself. FYI, this song was sung in Guitar Ensem's concert. The PV has a very sweet love story AND AND AND...YUI's smile :)

NEWS - SUMMER TIME
I hope I got the number of 'e's correct. hahah. Anyway, NEWS is definitely one of my favourite boybands in the Jpop market. and since it is Summer, what other song than SUMMER TIME says it better. Enjoy!

DBSK - Sky
How can I leave out DBSK right? LOL. I think Sky is quite a...known song, considering that it has been released for about 3 years already! This song surely has that summer beat going on and Yoochun says it himself in the opening. I think this is a great PV too. See, summer PVs always have that very bright feeling.

Ok nvm, but when there is Yang, there is always Yin. So...ever heard about SUMMER BALLADS? Actually, like Upbeat summer tracks, they don't really have a specific genre all to themselves because they are just ballads but yet, you really can feel something different in such ballads. Just to present a few.

Otsuka Ai - Kingyo Hanabi
I think it is really sad if you don't know this song. But maybe after hearing it, you might feel even sadder. Yes, somehow summer ballads have a slightly more painful and nostalgic feeling in them. Ai's shows the slightly more painful side of it beautifully in this famous song - Kingyo Hanabi (which literally means Goldfish Fireworks.

ARASHI - Aozora Pedal
Even though I don't listen to much of their songs, but this ballad does stand out. It carries with it a rather nostalgic feel...which you can only understand if you listen and watch the PV, depicting friends getting together and having fun. So yea...the end of summer is quite sad huh?

Yuna Ito - miss you
This has got to be the most authentic Summer ballad I have ever heard yet. It has the sound of oceans, accompanied with a piano melody and some other instruments with Yuna's bright voice. Another song filled with summer nostalgia.

Jap Club Gathering during June Hols

Hi everyone, this post has been long overdue cos i lost touch on the language style of a blog post ;p nt that i m better now but i'll just give it a try =). For those who couldn't make it for the gathering, read to find out what happened. For those who went, read to bring back fond memories. =) The day started with me rushing to VJ to return a video camera that I loaned the day before. VERY annoyingly, the lab techs were out for lunch and from experience, their lunch = 2hrs. So I din bother to wait and headed to parkway to meet with shi yun and angie. We went to Giant to buy all the party necessities including the innumerable balloons (see pic below). Then huiping arrived and the girls went shopping for hair accessories! T.T I was left alone... sitting at the circular bench in the basement like an old ah peck... the psp in my grasp was all that distinguished me from them… We then hitched a ride on my grandma's car to my house where the balloon blowing fest began... all shaped and sizes emerged and interestingly, shi yun knows how to bend balloons into animal shapes! =D. Abt an hour before the official time, I headed off to the MRT to pick ppl up and some stuff happened oh well shan’t elaborate... we ordered Oishii pizza!!! XD omg they totally own canadian XD best part is that they were having a 2 for 1 promo ^^. Chicken wing, chips and cakes aside... WE HAD SUSHI!!! XD Post dinner entertainment was a huge mahjong fest with 2 tables, totaling 8 ppl playing, while jess and elva watched jap and korean MVs. We celebrated Elva's bdae with cake and singing. HI ALL!

Filbert here.
You'd probably think why is there another blog being set up and what's going to happen to the previous one right? As you can see, the other blog is rather inactive and it also lacks a tagbox. Hence, with the new Blogger blog, more people (like me) who use blogger can regularly update it with random things related to Japanese Culture.

As you can see at the top, we have a section called Categories and anyone who posts things should Label their post accordingly so in future, if we want to review a certain post, we can quickly access it by clicking on the TYPE of post it is.

Hopefully this will allow more interaction between of all of you. And also broaden your knowledge about Japanese Culture as time goes by XD

Oyes, I'm still trying to change the above photo into OUR Club photo. So...for the time being, anjoy that anime shot :P
